Holiday Gifts For Kittens

December 1 2021

Have you recently adopted a kitten? If so, you’re in for a pretty special holiday. Little Fluffy’s first holiday is bound to provide some adorable moments. There are few things cuter than seeing a baby cat playing with new toys! A local San Diego, CA vet lists some great gifts for kittens in this article.

Scratching Post

This is the time to teach your furry little diva good nail-care habits. A good scratching post or board is a must! Be sure to pet and praise her when she does use it.

Kitty Tower

Cat towers offer kitties lookout points, lounging areas, and, of course, jungle gyms. Just get one that your furball will still be able to use when she’s full grown: otherwise, you’ll just be replacing it in a few months.

Toys are purrfect gifts for kittens! Fill Fluffy’s stockings with kitty classics, such as catnip mice, little balls, and laser pointers.

Our feline friends love finding comfy spots to look adorable in. Get Fluffy a comfy new bed, so she can practice sleeping positions such as the Pretzel and the Back Sprawl.

Proper nutrition is very important at this stage of little Fluffy’s life. Get your furry friend some yummy treats. Store-bought ones are fine, but you can also offer some canned tuna, or some plain, cooked meat, fish, or poultry, without the skin, bones, or fat. Ask your vet for specific advice, including safe and unsafe foods.

Catnip has a curious—and highly entertaining—effect on our feline pals. You can get your kitty a bag, or take it a step further and grow your own. However, if little Fluffy is still very young, she may not be susceptible to its effects. Most kitties don’t react to it until they are about 6 months old.

Our feline buddies are full of curious (and adorable) quirks. One we may never entirely sort out is their love of boxes. Give little Fluffy some empty ones after everyone has finished opening their gifts.

Kittens are very cute, but they are also highly prone to mischief. You’ll need to do plenty of petproofing to make your home safe for little Fluffy. Ask your vet for specific recommendations.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if ever we can be of assistance. As your San Diego, CA animal clinic, we are here to help!
