Preventative Care
We always recommend keeping pets up to date with preventative care: it’s much easier (and often cheaper) to prevent issues than to treat them. However, this is also very important when it comes to emergencies. If you have to evacuate, you may need proof of that paperwork to bring your beloved pet into a shelter with you. Your four-legged friend could also be at increased risk of catching things from other pets in hectic, chaotic situations.
ID
If your pet hasn’t been microchipped yet, we recommend getting that done as quickly as possible. You’ll want to have everyone on the same page as far as things like where to regroup during an emergency, emergency contacts, and do’s and don’ts. Include pets in these plans!
