Ways To Celebrate Holistic Pet Day With Fluffy

August 16 2022

Holistic Pet Day is coming up on August 30th. Here at Santaluz, we are happy to offer holistic care options. We strongly believe that being able to combine holistic care with more high-tech modern medicine allows us to customize our furry patients’ care regimens and offer the best of both worlds. If you’re interested in exploring more about these options, learn about our “Alternative Vet Therapies” services. While Fluffy may just yawn and blink if you were to tell her that, she can definitely benefit from a holistic care regimen. For more ideas on how to care for your pet during the holidays in a holistic way, check out our article on “Holistic Holiday Pet Care.” A local Carmel Valley, CA vet lists a few things to put on your to-do list below.

Plant Something

Plants can really help improve your air quality. Plus, kitties like to hide behind green leaves and pretend they’re tigers. Buy or plant something new! Just take care to only get things that are safe for your furry friend. You can check the ASPCA website here for a full list. (Tip: Plant some cat grass or wheat grass seeds in an old litterbox or storage tote. When it grows in, Fluffy will have her own little lawn to look self-satisfied on.)

Get A Kitty Fountain

Our feline buddies often prefer to drink running water? Get Fluffy her own little fountain to drink out of. This is a great way to help keep your furball properly hydrated!

Revisit Food Choices

Proper nutrition is crucial to keeping your cute pet happy and healthy. Take a look at the ingredients listed on your furry buddy’s food. If you’re seeing a lot of things you can’t pronounce or identify, it may be a good idea to switch Fluffy’s brand. Ask your vet for advice on this.

Yoga

Yoga is great for stretching and relaxing, two things kitties excel at. Try something new!

Clean And Declutter

While feng shui doesn’t technically fall under the veterinary care umbrella, there is a lot to be said for having a home that feels clean, cozy, and welcoming. Give your place a makeover by doing a deep clean and getting rid of unwanted items. Use non-toxic, eco-friendly products. (We suspect Fluffy will be more than happy to supervise.)

Relax

Self care is crucial for our mental and emotional health. Relax with a good book or movie and your feline pal. We all need some R&R!

As a veterinary specialist in Carmel Valley, CA, we are committed to providing exceptional care to your beloved pets. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at any time.
