Ways To Keep Your Cat Purring In 2023

January 1 2023

Happy New Year! As we toss out our old calendars and put up new ones, many people are setting their own personal goals for the coming year. Why not incorporate your feline buddy in your resolutions? After all, this is a purrfect time to take a closer look at Fluffy’s care regimen. A Carmel Valley, CA vet lists some ways to keep your cat happy, healthy, and purring in this article.

Toys

Toys aren’t just fun for Fluffy: they’re important for her physical, mental, and emotional health. Playing keeps your cat active, provides mental stimulation, and also just helps her burn off any angst she may be feeling. Make it a habit of picking up new things for your kitty regularly. (Don’t forget to retrieve your furry pal’s things from under the couch periodically.)

Playtime

Playthings are great, but Fluffy will find it both more fun and more challenging if she has a buddy. Try to play with your feline friend daily!

Good Food

Proper nutrition is crucial to your furry buddy’s overall health and wellbeing. Offer Fluffy the best food you can afford. Choose something that’s appropriate to her age. Kittens and seniors have different nutritional needs! If you’re a new kitten owner, check out these helpful ‘Kitten Care Tips‘ to ensure your little furball grows up healthy and happy.

Brushing

Although Fluffy is pretty good about keeping up with her beauty rituals, she can still use some help. Brushing your furry friend  regularly will get dead hair out of her coat. It’s also good for her circulation. Plus, it’s a good way to spend time with your pet.

Veterinary Care

Fluffy may not be thrilled about visiting us, but she will be healthier and happier with proper care. We recommend that most adult cats come in at least once a year. Let this be a reminder to make that next appointment!

Window Seats

Our feline overlords are much safer inside, where they’re protected from things like cars, traffic, and weather. However, Fluffy will enjoy having a comfy spot where she can sit and watch birds and squirrels.

Boxes

Offer Fluffy empty boxes to conquer every now and then. Those little things really do matter!

Love

Cats are very emotional, and they really do need to feel loved and safe. Pay lots of attention to Fluffy!

On behalf of our vet clinic in Carmel Valley, CA, we extend our warmest wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year. Remember, we offer a wide range of ‘Veterinary Services‘ to keep your feline friend in top shape throughout the year.
